Direct Double-Helix™ is the most robust magnet package available…Direct Double-Helix™ magnets consist of alternating layers of conductive material and an insulating composite which also serves as the substrate for the next layer. The conductive layer is adhered to the substrate layer through very secure bonding methods such as high strength epoxies. Based on the requirements of the application, other attachment methods can be used.
 The result of this stacked assembly is a very robust, composite structure, mechanically able to handle very high forces experienced by the current conductor under high sheer stress or high field conditions. The choice of substrate and conductor can also have a very significant impact on the overall mass of the magnets. Tradeoffs between stiffness, electro-magnetic and thermal characteristics versus weight can easily be made. |
